We know that 20 of May is the independence day of our nation East Timor, and this year we celebrate the anniversary of our country for seventeen years, and as we known May 20th is a historical day for us Timorese people to remember again our suffering during 24 years. So for us as news generation or, hero and governments because through their self-sacrifice some died to fight during 24 years till won the war that began from 1975 until 1999 and on May 20 of 2002 celebrated our nations independence day. So that’s why May 20th very important day for Timorese people, now we must respect the old generations because of them we got our freedom. Now, we can enjoy the development of our country, and happy with our lives. That’s why as new generations we also must fight, not fight with the army but fight with our study to develop our beloved country East Timor. So as Timorese people in this historical day we must create friendship and peace in our country. (Ir. Sandro Silva)
